Knowledge for better sourcing decisions.

Product identity, quality specifications, Sri Lankan export procedures, destination research and trade terms — organized for international buyers who need to know what to verify before they request a quote.

CeyLanka's Knowledge Hub prioritises primary authorities, shows review dates for time-sensitive guidance and keeps industry requirements separate from claims about a specific CeyLanka supplier, lot or shipment.

05 · Buyer glossary

The terms that change what a quote actually means.

Compact definitions for recurring sourcing, quality and trade terms. These are orientation notes, not substitutes for a current legal, standards or laboratory interpretation.

Specification
The agreed description and measurable requirements the product is expected to meet.
CoA
Certificate of Analysis — sample- or lot-specific analytical results, not a substitute for the full specification.
MRL
Maximum Residue Limit for a pesticide or related regulated residue in a defined food/product context.
Phytosanitary certificate
Official plant-health certification issued against importing-country conditions for qualifying plant consignments.
HS code
Harmonized System classification used as the basis for customs classification of goods.
Certificate of Origin
A document supporting an origin claim where the trade, preference or buyer route calls for it.
REX
Registered Exporter system used for applicable preferential origin statements after the required registration.
Incoterms® 2020
ICC trade rules that allocate specified delivery tasks, costs and risks between seller and buyer.
Brix
A soluble-solids measurement sometimes used in fruit and processed-food specifications; relevance depends on the product.
Dry matter
The material remaining after water is excluded; used as a maturity/quality indicator for certain products such as avocado.
Lot / batch
A defined quantity tied to production, handling or testing records so evidence can be linked to the supplied goods.
Cultivar
A cultivated plant variety; cultivar can materially affect fruit maturity, size, quality and market route.

06 · How we research

Useful content needs a visible research method.

Google currently recommends helpful, original, people-first content with clear authorship and trust signals. For CeyLanka, that means showing where the information comes from and where its limits are.

01

Primary sources first

Regulators, standards bodies and official Sri Lankan authorities are preferred for legal, plant-health, tea, origin and Customs guidance.

02

Buyer guidance is labelled

Market-development sources such as CBI can explain buyer expectations, but they are kept distinct from law and from CeyLanka capability claims.

03

Time-sensitive facts are dated

Rules, tariffs, border controls and market conditions can change. Guides show a review date and link back to the live authority.

04

Evidence stays scoped

A standard, certificate, lab report or supplier document is only described as evidence for the product, site, lot, scope and route it actually covers.

Published by CeyLanka Naturals. Guides are written as buyer decision support, reviewed against cited sources and linked to the live authority wherever requirements can change.
